Personal Winner's Bible

Welcome to Your Personal Winner's Bible

Your Personal Winner's Bible (pwb) is a custom tailored tool to cover all the important aspects of your life and provides a structured approach; a template to help you gain clarity about your Goals, your Optimal Future and to create a ‘Happy Contented Balance’ in your life.

It is about you becoming the best version of yourself and doing the things that make you intrinsically happy. Feeling content has been clinically shown to change your brain and give you a competitive advantage.

Many people have Goals that don’t actually make their lives any happier. What is tragic is that they spend all their lives chasing them.

Your pwb is dynamic and ever-changing and each page requires you to upload images that represent you, or your Goals and that are personal to you. Your pwb connects you to all the important aspects of your life that will bring you happiness and fulfilment.

Below are instructions for each of the sections, explaining what to do and why.

My Winner's Bible

This section contains your entire Personal Winner’s Bible  to help you connect with your Goals, Inspirations and Motivations on a daily basis. It's function is to allow you to quickly scroll through all major sections and let your subconscious decide which image or section is important for the day.

The first section contains your Goals because they are what give you energy and purpose in life. To some extent, your Goals even define who you are. Writing a list of Goals is a good thing to do but it isn’t nearly enough. The problem with lists is they don’t get deep enough inside your soul to arouse your emotions. To change your life, you need to feel your Goals. You need to taste and smell them. Words are just too clumsy for that.

Your brain is not a computer that can be re-programmed by simply running 'different thoughts' through your mind. What you need are powerful images you can immerse yourself in, and a very special way of bringing them to life.

Permanent change requires both the logical and the emotional circuits of your brain to be re-wired.

How to use your Personal Winner’s Bible every day

You don’t have to go through every single page and visualise every image when you use your pwb every morning. Just scroll through and your mind will automatically select which pages and sections are important to you. This will change on a daily basis. So even though your pwb will be full with many different things – you’ll only need to spend 5 minutes each morning looking through it.

Remember to use your pwb daily!

As you select images make sure they tell a story that you can be involved in and are of excellent photographic quality.

Visualisation & Constructing Stories

  • Visualisation

To make your Goals come alive and fire up the circuits in your brain to change your life, you stare very intently at the image without taking your eyes off it for 2 minutes.  As you do your eyes will naturally move around to take in different aspects of the picture. Of course, you can blink as often as you need to.

If you do this, you’ll find it changes from just a picture into a genuine experience with emotional power. You may hear laughter, smell the coffee, feel the wind and sun on your face,… A Goal that is alive, vibrant and tangible. All your senses have become involved with the visualisation process and the more you practice the more naturally this will happen.

Visualisation influences your whole day and gives your brain an upgrade.

  • Construct stories

One way you can help your subconscious to produce all these sensations is to make up small stories before you start your visualisation. You must really feel your Goals on an emotional level. You must totally connect with them so that they aren’t just bland mental images.

It's important to know WHY you want to reach your Goals. The WHY connects you emotionally to your Goals. It may be that you have chosen a particular Goal because you want to feel secure, or you want to feel free, or feel valued, or it could be so many other reasons. The WHY drives the little stories that help you visualise your Optimal Future. For example if you use an image of your dream house with pool, see yourself having the life you have always wanted in your dream home. See yourself having happy family dinners or time with your friends, laughing, swimming, joking or whatever it is you want your life to be.

YOU.inc

To construct a Mind Map which shows all the components of your life or business we recommend you download a free 30 day trial from Mindjet. You’ll find the link on the Winner’s Bible Website. Alternatively, a free mindmap programme is available on https://www.mindomo.com

The purpose of this section in your Personal Winner’s Bible is to create a ‘business’ and / or ‘life’ mindmap. It goes onto the first page because it’s going to be the first thing you look at each morning. It’s going to provide you with a checklist to make sure you are properly balanced and allocating your precious emotions, time and energy to the right things.

How to use it every day: It’s main purpose is to help you quickly look over your entire life in one quick, fifteen-second scan to:

  1. Check you are allocating your time and effort correctly.
  2. Check whether you have neglected any key areas just because some things are screaming more loudly at you than they should. Urgent is not necessarily important!
  3. Check whether you need to add or entirely remove some boxes from your life.

Family and Friends

Seeing pictures of your family and friends as you scroll through your pwb may remind you to make that little phone call or go out of your way to do that little extra thing that makes pptheir day better. After all, a true Winner isn’t just concerned about themselves.

Material Goals

Choose images that represent your material goals and create a story around them that you are involved in. One thing you need to be careful of at the start is to choose images that are realistic for where your life is right now. Don’t’ begin with premature and potentially misleading fantasies. You are better off with updating your images step by step until you finally reach that ‘Super Goal’.

If you want to, you can put the image of your ‘Super Goal’ near the end of your pwb so you don’t lose sight of your long-term Goals. It’s important to understand that change is a step by step process.

Career Goals

This section will help you define your career Goals.

An analysis of highly successful people showed they share one important experience in common: At some stage in their lives, the highly successful people chose to follow their Passions rather than pursue a career based on money or prestige.

Be clear about your true motivation: your intrinsic drivers!

Pattern:

  1. Because you are passionate about something – you do it well.
  2. Because you do it well – it becomes successful.
  3. Because it is successful you enjoy doing it even more – you become more passionate.
  4. And so a cycle back to a) is strengthened.

Find images that represent your career Goals.

Personal Development Goals

Instead of focusing mostly on material things like a new house or car, it is important to focus on things like:

  • Honing your natural abilities and fulfilling your potential
  • Overcoming your weaknesses and the things that hold you back
  • Breaking free from your past and creating a designer life on your terms
  • Increasing your personal power
  • Improving your relationships
  • Overcoming setbacks

Here you can be especially creative with the use of images.

Heroes and Mentors

This section will help you to feel inspired.

Find some images of mentors that personify what you are trying to achieve, for example Unshakeable Belief in yourself or if ‘never giving in’ and ‘acting with dignity’ are two of your Goals, then maybe an image of Nelson Mandela would be an excellent place to start. But maybe a sporting hero is better for you. If so, choose an athlete that typifies the qualities you’re looking for. Maybe it’s their ‘underdog’ determination or try to succeed against all odds. Maybe it’s their confidence or just the type of sport that gets your juices going.

Strengths and Weaknesses

To accurately assess your Strengths and Weaknesses and knowing what to do about them is one of the key Skills possessed by all Winners. It is a theme repeated time and again in business, sport and life in general.

Here is some helpful information to consider:

You find a list of strengths and weakness to help you with your self-evaluation.

Unshakeable Belief in Yourself

An Unshakeable Belief in yourself is like the engine that drives you forward and powers you over any obstacle. You can train your brain to have an Unshakeable Belief in exactly the same way you improve your tennis backhand or teach your brain to automatically invert an upside-down image – by constant practice. If you are going to be a Winner then you absolutely need to get an Unshakeable Belief in your Optimal Future. Practise your ‘Unshakeable Belief in Yourself’ every single day.

  • Step 1: Believing in Belief

Remind yourself of the power of Belief by adding images of people and storeis that demonstrate Unshakeable Belief. If you have an Unshakeable Belief in your Mental Arsenal then you have got a Mental Weapon more powerful than 99% of the people you’ll meet today. It’s a nice feeling!

  • Step 2: Write down your own unique Optimal future

This includes all the aspects of your life that will make you happy and a well-rounded individual. It is about you becoming the person you ought to be and doing the things that make you intrinsically happy.

  • Step 3: The clear plan

Write down in bullet points the precise steps and stages you are going to go through in order to obtain your Optimal Future.

Hint:  In addition, you can record and listen to the story of your Optimal Future daily.

Optimism vs Unshakeable Belief: Optimism is about looking on the bright side of the situation and this has little to do with an Unshakeable Belief. To be truly successful, you need to be realistic and understand the size of the task ahead, what your Strengths and Weaknesses are and what you need to do to improve.

Carpe Diem

This page may simply contain the words ‘Carpe Diem’ or photos of Dead Poet Society. It may contain poetry or some image of beauty. It may contain pictures of people close to you that you have lost. You’ll know what works for you.

To make sure you don’t ‘just consume daylight’ but for you to make your day meaningful answer the following questions:

Are you living your life to its fullest, moving towards your Optimal Future and doing what gives you the greatest satisfaction?

Are you living in such a way as to add value to the world and people you come in contact with?

To help you achieve your Optimal Future your pwb should remind you of:

  1. The brevity of life
  2. The importance of quality
  3. The value of savouring all the richness in life

Wheel of Life

Action Items: Checking your wheel

This section will help you gain more balance in your life.

Take a moment now to look back over last week and think about how balanced your life was. It’s necessary to do this from time to time because our Wheels often go out of balance so slowly that we don’t even realize it’s happening. You may now have become used to the rollercoaster ride and accepted that as part of normal life when actually it shouldn’t be. Maybe you have become obsessed or overly focused on a certain aspect of your life and this is causing you to wobble along. So, answer the following questions:

  • Relationships:

1. Are you and your partner balancing each other out or have you somehow got out of sync as time has gone by?

2. Has your relationship stalled or are you challenging and stimulating each other?

3. Are your axles aligned and are you heading in the same direction?

  • Work / Recreation / People:

1. Are you overly focused on one or two items?

2. Is your work / recreation balance correct?

3. What percentage of your week was spent thinking about all the components on your Wheel Of Life?

  • Progress:

1. Have you strengthened your central philosophy and are you more secure / content in yourself?

2. What are you doing to make sure you get closer to your Optimal Future?

3. Are you spinning your Wheel with lots of effort – tremendous motion and action – without any actual progress towards your Goals?

Find out what needs to be worked on. Then actually do something about it.

Happy Section

This section will help you start the process of having a ‘Happy Contented Balance’. It contains all the things that you are happy about. The most important things in this section won’t just be your material possessions – they’ll also include things like your friends, your family and the people who are important to you. You should also include things you’ve done in your life that you are proud of or magical times in your life. Events that made you really happy. Be creative and think outside the box when you fill the ‘Happy Pages’.

Learn how to savour happiness rather than just consume it. Learn how to savour the past, as well as the present and the anticipation of the future. Be grateful!

Intrinsic Drivers

Know who you are!

Uncovering your Intrinsic Drivers:

  • Stage 1: List all your Passions / pursuits / things you really enjoy.
  • Stage 2: For each Passion, identify the Intrinsic Drivers of that Passion. Drivers are the underlying reasons why we like those Passions.
  • Stage 3: Consolidate all your Drivers into a single list.

There might be considerable overlaps. Some of the reasons why you like your career might also pop up in why you like a particular sport or pursuit.

Add your drivers to your pwb and you can use them for guidance. They’ll act as your ‘Golden Compass’, to guide you when making decisions. They’ll also help you when you are checking how well your life is balanced.

Many people find they end up changing some of the Goals they’ve already put in their pwb after they consolidate their Intrinsic Drivers because they now have a deeper understanding of who their authentic self is. They discover some of their Goals weren’t correctly aligned with their true nature. And if your Drivers and your Goals don’t match then your life is bound to be a constant battle of frustration. Sometimes even a subtle realignment can change a good life into a brilliant life.

If you are a manager or business owner then one of the best ways to increase performance and satisfaction of your employees is to help them

  1. Discover their Intrinsic Drivers
  2. Align their Drivers with your Company’s Goals

Profile

The photo on the front cover should only have you in it and no one else. Don’t use a photo that has your friends in the shot or something else going on in the background. This is Your Personal Winner’s Bible and so the front cover needs to capture the essence of you. Choose your photo carefully. Maybe it’s a portrait that shows your best feature. One that conveys your personality and the things you like about yourself. If you are an athlete then maybe you want a close-up action shot of you at an event you were particularly happy with. Maybe you are on the Winner’s podium of perhaps it could be a photo of you at full stretch in the middle of a training event. A photo that shows all your power and speed. It’s your choice.
